The Challenge

The home had existing tile floors that felt dated and didn’t match Thinc’s vision for a modern rental property. Removing the tile would increase time and cost, so the challenge was to create a seamless, updated look directly over the existing surface while ensuring long-term durability.

The Solution

Day 1: Surface Preparation
The existing tile floors were properly cleaned and prepared. A self-leveling cement was applied to create a smooth, even surface suitable for epoxy.

Day 2–3: Epoxy Application
An epoxy base coat was installed, followed by a white and grey metallic epoxy layer that delivered a sleek, contemporary look throughout the space.

Day 4: Final Protection
A urethane top coat was applied to seal the floors and countertops, providing added durability, stain resistance, and easy maintenance—ideal for a rental property.

Results

The renovation completely transformed the first floor and countertops, giving the home a modern, high-end appearance without removing the existing tile. Thinc was extremely pleased with the outcome and confident the upgraded finishes would attract renters quickly.
