Introduction

Art Epoxy was selected to complete the flooring for a brand-new pizzeria in Boca Raton. The client wanted durable, attractive flooring that would suit both public dining spaces and the back-of-house kitchen area. This project included two different systems to match each area’s functionality and design needs.

The Challenge

The client needed two types of flooring to accommodate different uses:

  • Dining Area: A neutral, stylish finish that would allow flexibility in décor and hold up to high customer traffic.
  • Kitchen Area: A highly durable, easy-to-clean surface built to handle spills, impact, and constant employee movement.

  • Urethane topcoat with aluminum oxide for durability

The Solution

Art Epoxy delivered a high-performance and visually appealing result using a tailored dual-system approach:

Kitchen / First Floor – 600 sq ft

  • Installed an epoxy moisture vapor barrier 
  • Broadcast Shoreline flakes for added strength and slip resistance 
  • Finished with a polyaspartic topcoat for fast curing and durability 

Dining / Second Floor – 500 sq ft

  • Applied a 100% solid epoxy base 
  • Installed a metallic coat in Sterling (light grey) for an elegant, modern aesthetic 
  • Added a urethane topcoat with aluminum oxide for long-lasting protection

Results

The finished floors not only elevated the restaurant’s look but also ensured long-term resilience. The dining area’s metallic finish provided a clean, neutral base for the client’s decor, while the flake system in the kitchen offered maximum strength and functionality.
